Rüdiger Lotter
Leader

Rüdiger Lotter has quickly established himself as a leading and highly versatile Baroque violinist. The Herald Tribune calls him "an exquisitely refined exponent of period playing", and the four CDs which he has so far recorded with OehmsClassics have been enthusiastically received by the international specialist music press.

His collaboration in chamber music with artists such as Ronald Brautigam, Hille Perl and Irvine Arditti demonstrate his versatility as well as his openmindedness towards contemporary music. As chamber musician and soloist, Rüdiger Lotter appears at such important festivals as the Edinburgh Festival, Mozartfest Würzburg, the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, "Folles Journées" in Nantes, European Musikfest Stuttgart, the Dresden Musikfestspiele and Bachwoche Ansbach.

He has received several awards, for example at the renowned competition "Premio Bonporti" in Rovereto, Italy and in 2002 at the international Heinrich-Schmelzer-Wettbewerb in Melk, Austria. In 2006 he débuted as a soloist with Musica Antiqua Cologne at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

As a specialist in historically informed performance practice, Rüdiger Lotter also works with orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of the WDR (West German Broadcasting), the Bremen Philharmonic, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the orchestra of the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele and the Teatro di Liceu, Barcelona. In 2007 he was visiting professor at the State Hochschule für Musik Trossingen. Rüdiger Lotter plays a Jacobus Steiner violin which previously belonged to Reinhard Goebel.
